The Landorre stream rises not far from our gîte and joins the Lot at Saint-Vincent-Rive-d'Olt.
It has carved out a narrow valley which, in places, reveals vestiges of ancient activity (mills, wash-houses, etc.). Although the stream is dry for most of the year, the valley floor remains damp: the trees, many of them boxwood, are covered in moss, and the vegetation is greener and more luxuriant.
This gorge floor is in stark contrast to the Causse, on which the gîte is located, which is an arid limestone plateau with patchy Mediterranean and grassy vegetation. There is a wide variety of flowers to be observed from spring till autumn.
